Meri Rasoi Scheme Punjab – Eligibility, Food Kit Items List

Punjab government start Meri Rasoi Scheme in the month of February 2026, in which they provide food kits to 40 lakh families. This scheme also started from the month of April 2026; the aim is to provide food and nutrition to families. This scheme was launched by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Mann. Beneficiaries will receive food quarterly to help them to improve their nutrition and reduce hunger, especially for the children of low-income families.

Under the Meri Rasoi Scheme, the government has decided to target families who come under the National Food Security Act and have a blue ration card. Under this scheme beneficially receive 2 kg chana Dal, 2 kg sugar, 1 kg iodised salt, 200 grams turmeric powder and 1 litre of mustard oil for cooking. With this subsidize Wheat is also provided under the NFSA. These kits are all prepared by Markfed, and they are distributed by the Department of Food and Civil Supply. Food kids are checked by the authority, and they will maintain the quality of all products.

• Motive: To enhance the nutrition among the poor families of the Punjab, so that they can also live healthy lifestyle, government introduced this scheme. It will also help them to reduced the burden of Kitchen expenses by giving them food security every month.
• Targeted Beneficiaries: In this scheme 40 Lakhs families are going to cover who also have Punjab Smart Ration Card in their name.
• Items: Different Kitchen items are added by the government like Sugar, Chana Daal, Oil, Salt and Turmeric.
• Cost of Items: This Ration Kit is distributed as Free of Cost by the government and distribution started from the month of April.
• Department Belongs: This scheme is implemented by the Food and Civil Supplies Department of the Punjab State under the guidelines of the state government.
• Eligibility: Every that family of the Punjab state who are holder of Blue Ration Card/NFSA are eligible. There is no any mode to submit the application, if you have such ration card and linked with Aadhar Card are automatically added in this scheme.

• In this scheme, the primary object to launch this scheme is to provide nutritious food items to low-income group families/ poor families.
• It will help to reduce the more nutrition among children and women through open jobs.
• This scheme helps the families who already receive Wheat on subsidised rates.

• Many families in Punjab do not get proper nutrition due to a lack of money or other reasons. The Government of Punjab try to reduce the malnutrition percentage with this scheme.

Important Dates

Meri Rasoi Scheme was initially started in February 2026 by the chief minister of Punjab, Mr Bhagwant Mann. In the month of February, this scheme is only introduced, and the benefit of the scheme will start from April 2026. From the month of April distribution phase will also started and this month will become the first month of distribution of these kits. These kids are distributed every three months to the beneficiary families.

Eligibility Criteria for Meri Rasoi Scheme

• Punjab government set an eligibility criteria to take advantage of this scheme. Check the eligibility criteria first:-
• Only the residents of Punjab are eligible for this scheme.
• Only those families are eligible who come under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).
• The family should have a Blue Ration Card.
• The annual income of the family is not more than 60,000 rupees annually and comes under the low-income category.
• Families who already receive subsidize Wheat, under government schemes, are eligible for these food kits.

This scheme will cover the eligible beneficiaries with the help of government data. In case your name is not added to the beneficial list, then you can follow the process:-

• Firstly, you have to check your eligibility to see if you are eligible for the scheme or not.
• To do that, you can visit your nearest Ration distribution shop and contact them.
• Officials will cross-check your documents and check your eligibility.
• If you are eligible and did not get the benefit of the scheme, then you have to update your details in the ration database.
• Eligible families receiving Food Item Kits from the starting month of April 2026. All the food items distributed by the side of Markfed and the Department of Food and civil Supply.
