Punjab government and the Building and Other Construction Worker Welfare Board (BOCW) have started a financial support scheme for the daughter marriage of registered workers, including the daughters who are also registered beneficiaries. The name of this scheme is the Shagun Scheme, Punjab. This scheme benefit will be given to up to two daughters adjusted workman. Under this scheme, financial support of 31000 rupees will be given by the Punjab government to the beneficiary as a marriage assistance. Only the residents of Punjab who are also registered workers under punjab BOCW board are eligible.
Punjab Shagun Scheme
The Punjab Shagun Scheme is basically a welfare scheme for the registered workers. The board will help register workers by giving them financial assistance for the marriage of their daughter. A registered worker can take advantage of the scheme for up to two daughters. If any girl who is also a registered member, she can also take the benefit of the scheme. Features of Scheme
- Financial Support: In this scheme every eligible families received Rs.51,000 financial benefits from government only one time. The amount is directly given to beneficiaries in their account using DBT Mode of Payment.
- Eligible Beneficiaries: Only Punjab residence who having low income group criteria will get at the time of their daughter Marriage when she turn 18 years.
- Daughter Coverage: From every family only two daughter will be cover to provide this financial help at the time of their marriage.
- Additional Beneficiaries: The construction worker who are registered with Department also get benefits of scheme as amount of Rs.31,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- The eligibility criteria are registered building or construction worker is given below:
- Applicant should be a registered member of any other welfare fund
- Applicant person should be a permanent resident of Punjab.
- The applicant building or construction worker is also known as an unorganised worker.
- The applicant’s age is between 18 and 60 years.
- The applicant has also engaged in building and construction work for the last 90 days in the current year.
- The monthly income of the applicant is 15000 or less than that.
- Applicant should not be a member of EPF, NPS Or ESIC.
- Taxpayers are not eligible for the scheme.
- The benefit of the scheme is only given for the first marriage of a daughter.
- Benefit is given to the beneficiary up to two daughters.
- The application form will be submitted within 3 months after the marriage date.
Financial Benefit Under the Shagun Scheme, Punjab
Under this scheme, Punjab BOCW will give financial assistance of 31,000 rupees to each daughter for their marriage. A family or a girl can use this money for their marriage, make arrangements, buy new clothes, or any other marriage-related purposes. If any girl is doing a second marriage, then the scheme does not apply to them. This scheme is only applicable for the first marriage, up to two daughters of the registered worker.

Punjab Shagun Scheme Application Process
The registration for the scheme is done through both ways like online and offline. And you can visit your nearest CSC online and complete your registration process

A worker can visit their nearest Sewa Kendra to apply online.
Online Apply
- If any applicant applies as a building or construction worker, then they have to download the application form number 28. Then attach all the necessary documents.
- Then you can submit your application to the nearest labour instructor in your area
Welfare Scheme Application Form
- Registered applicants have to download Form 35 and attach all the necessary documents.
- Your application will be submitted to the labour inspector of your area.
- If any applicant is not registered with the Bold, then firstly they have to register as a construction worker by filling the form number 28 \ add pay the registration fee of rupees 25. After that, they have to pay 10 rupees per month as a contribution fee.
How to fill the application form for the Shagun Scheme, Punjab?
- Firstly, you have to download the Shagun scheme for the marriage of daughters application form.
- Fill the application form with details about the mode of delivery of service, Sewa Kendra or by post.
- Fill detail about the application processing office.
- In the next section, enter the registration number, the name of the beneficiary, the father or husband’s name, the rate of registration and the complete address of the beneficiary.
- The next section is general information in which you have to enter the name of your daughter, the date of birth of your daughter, the venue address of the marriage, the age of your daughter at the time of marriage, the contribution paid up, the type of work and the marriage date.
- In the next section, you have to decide whether you have taken any type of benefit under the 7 scheme or not.
- The next part is banking details in which you have to provide your bank name, branch name, account number and IFSC code. These details are needed to receive the financial support amount.
- Then you have to agree to all terms and conditions, and then sign your signature on the citizen signature section.
- Submit this form to the area labour officer.
