To Provide the financial help to the students who belong to the reserved and minorities communities in the state of Punjab, the state government started the program with the name of Punjab Post Matric Scholarship Scheme. Under this scheme, every eligible candidate who wants to continue their higher study beyond class 10th will be eligible to avail the financial aid.
In this scheme, the financial aid which is given by the government will cover the tuition fee and also the maintenance, etc. So if you are also a student and pursuing higher education in the state of Punjab and also belong to the SC, BC category, or other minority community will be eligible to obtain the financial support from the government.
What is the Punjab Post Matric Scholarship Scheme?
Punjab government, to support the students belonging to the SC/BC and Minority Category, financially started this scholarship program. In this scheme, all the reserved category students who having the family income below Rs. 2.5 Lakhs per year and are enrolled for higher education from class 11th to PHD Level will be eligible to avail the financial benefits of the scheme.
The financial benefits which are given under this scheme cover the non-refundable 100% fee of the students and also give the maintenance allowance every month of Rs. 1,200. Apart from this, the additional grants are also given for their educational tours and for books.

Eligibility Criteria for Post Matric Scholarship Punjab
- Bonafide/Domicile: All the permanent citizens of the state of Punjab will be eligible.
- Education Status: All students who have already completed their 10th class and are not enrolling in the higher class like 11th, 12th, undergraduate, Post Graduate, PHD level.
- Academic Status: The reserved category students must obtain 50% to 60% marks in their previous class.
- Reserved category: Must belong to the SC/BC Category of the state of Punjab.
- Family Financial Status: The family’s annual income must be upto Rs.2.5 Lakhs per year.
- Bank Details Required: At the time of applying for this scheme, students must submit their bank account details, which are linked with their Aadhar Card, to receive the financial aid via direct benefits transfer mode.
- Attendance: Students must required 75% attendance in every academic year.

How to Apply Online for the Punjab Post Matric Scholarship Scheme?
- Register on Portal: First of all, you need to open the official scholarship Portal, i.e., Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Portal, and complete the Registration as a new user.
- Enter OTR Number: After completing the registration, every registered student needs to enter the OTR, i.e. One Time Registration Number, on the same portal.
- Upload Documents: You have to scan all the documents and then upload them with the form.
- Sent for Verification: Check the form and documents, and then submit the form. After that, you take the printout of the application form and then submit it to your institute for verification online, and then they forward your form to the department.
Amount Benefits of the Scheme
- Non-Refundable Fee: In this scheme government cover 100 percent non refundable fee, which is directly given to the institution of the students.
- Monthly Stipend For SC Students: Students belonging to the SC category will get the monthly allowance from Rs. 380 to Rs. 1,200 for hostellers and Rs. 230 to Rs. 550 for day scholars.
- For OBC Students: students get the monthly allowance upto Rs.750 per month.
- Additional Amount: this scheme also covers the educational tour by providing Rs 1,600, and for typing and printing the Thesis, Rs 1,600 is also allowed.
- Purchasing Books: For purchasing the books for the professional course Rs.2,400 to Rs. 7,500 will also be provided.
