In the State of Punjab, a new Government Street Light Scheme is going to be started from June 2026. The name of this scheme is Mukhya Mantri Roshan Punjab Yojana 2026. This scheme is going to provide 3 Lakhs Free Solar Lights to 13 Thousands villages of the Punjab state.

The government also decided the budget for this scheme of 550 Crore Rupees. These solar lights are going to be installed on all the roads in villages to provide security and also going to improve the financial activities in such villages. Mukhya Mantri Roshan Punjab Yojana

Recently, the State government of Punjab, to provide security and development of the Villages of the state, launched the new scheme, which is called ‘Mukhya Mantri Roshan Punjab Yojana’. In this scheme, the state government provides the instructions for 3 lakh solar lights in 13 thousand Punjab villages. The scheme was introduced by the Cabinet Minister Aman Arora in the presence of Bhagwant Mann, CM of the State. Very soon, the tender process for this scheme is going to start.

Objective of Mukhya Mantri Roshan Punjab Yojana

We all know that in the villages, due to a lack of street lights, people are afraid to leave their houses. The Hawker-like vegetable seller or daily need seller will stop working at sunset. And the women and kids also do not go out from their homes in the dark. The government, by launching this scheme, aims to provide security to the people and also promote financial activities.

The Solar Street light will be installed in the public places, like Roads of the village where the population is high. Every village, when the its get dark, will get the proper lights and people can work for more hours and earn money. And then crime will also stop, which happens due to the dark at night.

• As per the Aman Arora Cabinet Minister, this project is going to be started by the Government in June and has the motive to complete the work of the project by October.
• The Control centre for this scheme is going to be established in Chandigarh, from where the officials can check and observe the system of the solar lights of all across the state.
• Very soon, the government is also going to launch a helpline number for the public to file a complaint if, by chance, anything goes wrong with this project.
• Government going to give the contact of this project for 7 years to maintain all kinds of maintenance for the lights after installation. If they fail for it if any default happens within 72 hours, then the company will be responsible for paying a fine.
