There is already a welfare scheme that is run in the state of Punjab, which is known as the Ashirwad Scheme Punjab and formerly known as the Shagun Scheme. Under which the state government of Punjab provides financial help to the families who belong to the low-income group at the time of the marriage of their daughter. The amount which is given is Rs 51,000/-. This is one time help which is given only to the eligible families in the name of their Daughter who is going to be married. Ashirwad Scheme Punjab
This scheme is specially launched for the families who are under the economically weaker section at the time of the marriage ceremony of their daughter. In which government provides the financial support to the eligible families to fulfil the expenses of the marriage of the girl. This scheme is managed by the Social Justice, Empowerment and Minority Affairs Department of the State.
This scheme was first introduced in the state of Punjab with the name of “Shagun Scheme” under which the Punjab Government provide only Rs. 5,100 as financial assistance. But now the government provides Rs 51,000 for a maximum of two girls from the same families. At the time of the marriage, the age of the girl must be above 18 years.

Ashirwad Scheme Eligibility Criteria
- Permanent Residency:- Applicant Must be belongs to the Punjab state with permanent residency.
- Family Financial Status: The income of the family from all sources is not more than Rs. 32,000/-.
- Age Criteria: At the time of marriage of a girl, her age must be 18 years or above.
- Category: The families must belong to the reserved category, like SC, CB, EWS and for remarriage of a widow and a divorcee applicant must belong to SC and Christian.

- Financial Support: The government wants to support the families of the girls who are unable to perform the marriage ceremony due to their economic status. Ashirwad Scheme Punjab Application Process
- Online Process: The first process with the help of which you can apply, is the online process. In this process, you can submit your application through online mode with the help of the Digital Portal.
- Offline Process: In the offline process, you all need to download the application form and then fill manually.
Punjab Ashirwad Scheme Apply Online
- Every eligible families need to open the official website of the scheme ashirwad.punjab.gov.in.
- Now that you are on the home page of the portal, you need to find the link to Registration and then click to register for the scheme.
- When you completely register on the portal, you will get the Registered ID and password.
- Use the above details and then login in to your account. Here have to open the Ashirwad Scheme Application Form.
- Fill the form and upload the documents with the form.
- Submit the form and then send your application form for verification.
- After the verification of your form is approved by the government, then you will get the one-time grant in your account.
Application Form
- For the offline process, the application form needed to be downloaded from the official portal.
- You can also get the form from the Welfare Office of your District.
- Fill the form manually, and then attach all the documents and submit to the District Welfare Department Office of Punjab.
- Then Department government officials will check your form and documents, and after verification, the amount will be released in favour of the beneficiaries.
